When he finally retrieved the knife and swung me around to put the knife to my throat. He ended up taking me to the area he was hiding at…and as we headed to that area…I was thinking about what he planned on doing next, so I started thinking about what was in that area to protect myself, there was nothing, no cleaning products, no brooms and not even locks on the office or bathroom door. I didn’t know what he planned on doing. He ended up taking me into the bathroom. He then told me to sit down on the toilet and asked for me to stay in the bathroom and to not come out. The light in the bathroom remained on, the fan was super loud. I could hear him rustling through our ingredient bins. As I sat on the toilet waiting for what may be next. I had a thought, oh NO I gave him my purse and my grandma’s wedding ring was in there. I then, heard the phone ring, then, there was silence.
Awaiting The Unknown
I thought to myself, I am leaving this bathroom! So, I opened the door not knowing what was going to happen next. Then, I saw the knife laying on the ground near the bathroom door. I felt like the coast was clear so, I ran out the bathroom/office area to close the back door of the bakery. I ran through the bakery looking for him, making sure he wasn’t there still. I then ran to the phone and called 911. As, I was speaking to 911, I heard a gun fire, then, the man who worked down the way (at Lucky’s) grocery store ran down to see if everything was okay. I told him what happened and he told us what happened across the street. I guess the man who tried robbing me, attempted to rob the gas station across the street. The police eventually showed up and took a report.
